Hi, i'm Ana Hastie
The heart and creative eye behind Hastie Photography, based on the beautiful island of Gozo, Malta.
My work is all about capturing moments that feel real; the laughter, the quiet connections, the energy that makes every story unique. Whether I’m photographing families, couples, celebrations or spaces, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel alive and meaningful.
Originally from Cuba, I bring a warm, people first energy to every session. I believe photography should feel natural, relaxed and joyful, not staged or forced. Because the best photographs happen when you simply get to be yourself.
Over the years, I’ve been honored to work with families, couples, creatives and businesses, helping them transform moments into memories and spaces into visual stories. My approach is professional, thoughtful and intentional, but always infused with warmth and personality.

What It's like to work with me
Working with me feels calm, natural and unforced. I don’t believe in stiff poses or overcomplicating moments. I’ll gently guide you when needed but I’m mostly observant. Paying attention to the way you hold each other, to the quiet glances, to the energy in the space. I understand that being photographed can feel vulnerable. That’s something I respect deeply. My goal is to create room for you to settle into the moment, to feel comfortable, to be fully yourself. Some moments call for direction. Others simply need patience. Knowing when to step in and when to step back is part of my craft. I’m not chasing perfection. I’m looking for honesty. The kind that feels effortless but meaningful. My hope is that years from now, when you look at your photographs, you won’t just see how everything looked… you’ll remember exactly how it felt.

Photography has many forms, but weddings hold a special place in my heart. Through Pronoia Studios, I document weddings with the same approach that guides
all my work: honesty, emotion and attention to the moments that often go unnoticed. The quiet looks, the laughter between friends, the overwhelming joy of families coming together. Every wedding carries its own rhythm and my role is simply to observe, anticipate and preserve those moments as they naturally unfold.
"I was nervous before our maternity session. I didn’t feel my best and wasn’t sure how I’d look on camera. From the moment we started, Ana made both of us feel completely at ease. Nothing felt staged or forced. She guided us gently, but also gave us space to just be together and allowed the moments to unfold naturally.
Some of my favorite images are the quiet ones. the way he looked at me, the way we held each other without thinking. When I saw the gallery, I didn’t just see myself pregnant. I saw connection, strength, softness and a version of myself I hadn’t fully embraced yet. The beginning of something new. The whole experience felt calm, personal, and deeply meaningful. I’ll always be grateful for the way she captured this chapter of our lives"
